It’s generally agreed that the game is pretty dang easy if you don’t use Draconian Quest at all. Definitely easier than most DQ games. Turning on at least the « All Enemies are Super Strong » option will throw some tough challenges at you.

This brings me back to Dragon Quest XI. On Normal difficulty, the game is ridiculously easy. I’m not ashamed to admit that I turn on the auto-battle feature when fighting mobs because there’s no challenge in defeating them manually.
