It’s strongly recommended. Edgedancer covers a lot of ground with Lift (previously seen in a WoR interlude) and advances a plotline that is otherwise glossed over in Oathbringer. It is not a necessity, but it would definitely add to the story, as it describes an encounter between Lift and Nale.

Do I need to read Warbreaker before Oathbringer?
Warbreaker will be very relevant to Oathbringer, so its a good idea to finish it first. Even thought its unfortunately that Oathbringer will come out before you finish it. You should be fine either way.
When should you read Edgedancer?
Sanderson has stated before that Lift is one of his favorite characters and that she will have a larger role later on in the Stormlight series. Edgedancer flows in perfectly after WoR. I would definitely recommend reading it before Oathbringer.

Should I read Elantris before mistborn?
The Mistborn trilogy is much better, IMO. If you want to read Elantris at all, I’d recommend reading it first.
Is Warbreaker worth reading?
I definitely enjoyed Mistborn and Stormlight a lot more, but I think Warbreaker is great on its own. As always, Sanderson introduces a super unique magic system, and there are some great twists and turns to keep the pages turning. If you are a fan of Sanderson’s writing style, I would say it is definitely worth a read.
