Do you untap artifacts?
Things do not untap during your upkeep. They untap during your untap step. In the untap step, EVERY permanent you control is untapped, unless something is stopping it. Creatures, Artifacts, Lands, Planeswalkers, Enchantments, everything.
Do artifacts turn off when tapped? From the Revised rulebook: « If an artifact becomes tapped you may not use it again until it is untapped, even if it does not normally tap. Even continuous effects of the artifact cease until it is untapped. »

What is Lifelink MTG?
Lifelink is a keyword ability introduced in Future Sight. Damage dealt by a source with lifelink causes that source’s controller to gain that much life.
Is mana considered a permanent? Lands that are tapped for mana remain on the battlefield. The only thing that changes about them is that their status changes from untapped to tapped. If you cast something that destroys all lands (such as Armageddon), all of your lands will be destroyed.
