Yes, if you want to sit up with her all night assuring her flesh eating creatures are not lurking in the dark and dealing with night terror. Honestly I think 13 is too young for such hard gore horror, but of course 13 year olds are a lot more desensitised and media savvy these days, so use your judgement.
Is Tokyo Ghoul disturbing?
Definitely . The story will eave you shocked at many points . It is already very brutal and thus uncomfortable for some viewers . I do not have much problem with blood and gore and I rarely get depressed by watching anime .
Does kaneki get happy ending?
After defeating « Dragon, » Kaneki is swept up in a flood as the huge kakuja monster collapses. Luckily, he’s saved by Ayato off-screen, and the next we see of him is in the final chapter, happier than he has ever been. I would say 13-15 would be a good age range. I don’t think there will ever be an age where the torture scenes are not disturbing. Anyone below 18 will only watch the anime and not get the manga anyway.
Is Tokyo Ghoul ok for 12 year olds?
No.. Tokyo Ghoul is full of physical and psychological violence and torture. It is of horror genre so blood and guts splatter all around. The character Tsukiyama is also not a very good example for kids.

The ending was great too, something that you don’t see and that’s what Tokyo Ghoul was best known as. A tragic series. Tokyo Ghoul Re was a good series too but this arc was rushed as hell and the ending was like a Shonen one (I love Shonen but this is a Seinen series).
